Fereshteh Hosseini is of Persian descent, and discovered bellydance 9 years ago in her hometown of Edinburgh, Scotland. Performing Modern Egyptian and Modern Saidi Belly Dance, she has been taught by many Egyptian instructors. To name a few Raqia Hassan, Dandash and Khaled Mahmoud. Randa Kamel, and Dina are her main influences.

Fereshteh performed at the Ahlan Wa Sahlan Dance Festival 2003 in Cairo, Egypt. Fereshteh is now currently teaching weekly classes at Edinburgh University, and also teaches workshops within the UK. Workshops have been taught at Ford Residential in Northumberland, Wortley Hall and JOY in Yorkshire. Recently outside the UK, Fereshteh taught workshops at the Oriental Dance Festival in Stockholm, Sweden in April 2006. Fereshteh also performs regularly at restaurants in Edinburgh, and at private/corporate functions.


Fereshteh has also worked alongside Hassan Afifi while performing in Sharm el Sheikh, in Egypt Jan 2005, and also taught workshops and took part in the televised Shimmy-a-thon in Atlanta, GA, USA in May 2005. Fereshteh competed in Cairo, Egypt July 2006, and most recently returned from performing in Miami, Florida, September 2006.
